The Putnam Competition is a challenging opportunity for you to test your mathematical mettle. In the 2011 competition, 4440 individuals participated, representing 572 colleges and universities across the United States and Canada.

Detailed information and lore can be found at the official website of the competition.
The competion is open to all undergraduates who have not yet received a college degree. No individual may participate in the competition more than four times. If you are a UCSD undergraduate and wish to participate in the 2011 competition, please contact Prof. Kedlaya.

Copies of recent Putnam Problem Sets can be found here.

Problems and solutions for the years 1985-2000 have been collected by K. Kedlaya, B. Poonen, and R. Vakil. For a review of their book, click here.
