Math 152 Announcements
- Jun 2: The final exam will cover Part I sections 1-4, Part II sections 1-5, Part III sections 1-4, and Part IV sections 1-3.
- Jun 1 (updated}: I will be holding extra office hours on Sunday, June 4 from 1-4 in APM 6436. The professor will hold an office hour on Monday, June 5 from 2-3.
- May 31: The mean score on midterm 2 is 32.0 out of 40, with a standard deviation of 6.8 points. The median is 33. Here is a box plot of scores. Midterms will be returned in lecture on Tuesday.
- May 24: The explanation I gave in class today of Transferable Utility (TU) cooperative games was decidedly rushed. Here is a write-up of a (hopefully) more clear explanation.
- May 23: The professor will not hold office hours on Wednesday this week (May 25).
- May 23: Homework set 8 is now assigned, to be due on Friday, June 3 at 5 PM. Problems 1-3 cover material which is fair game for the midterm, but problems 4-6 do not.
- May 18: (Updated) Midterm II will cover Part II section 5, and Part III sections 1-4.
- May 16: Homework set 7 is now assigned. It is due May 25 at 5 PM.
- May 10: Problems 2 and 6 in homework set 6 were not being scored correctly, but that has been fixed.
- May 9: I was just informed that some math servers will be down between 7-11 AM on Wednesday, May 18. Since the WebWork site may be affected, and homework is due that evening, the deadline for homework 6 will be extended until 9 PM that night.
- May 9: Homework 6 is now posted. It is due Wednesday, May 18 at 5 PM.
- May 5: Here is a box plot of midterm 1 scores. (I thought I had posted this earlier, but something must have gone wrong.)
- May 2: Homework set 6 will be posted next week, as we do not have new material to cover at this point.
- Apr 28: The mean score on midterm 1 is 31.6 out of 40, with a standard deviation of 7.2 points. The median is 34. Midterms will be returned in discussion.
- Apr 26: Homework set 5 has been reduced to four problems (the other three were never intended to be posted). If you already downloaded a hardcopy, you are only responsible for problems 1, 2, 3, and 7. We have not gone over the other material.
- Apr 25: Homework set 5 is posted and visible, due next Wednesday (May 4).
- Apr 25: Answers submitted to problems 6-9 on homework set 4 have been lost just before noon today. so please redo those if you had already done them. Check your email for more details. If your answers were deleted and you have not heard from me individually, please contact me, either by email or after discussion tonight.
- Apr 21: The midterm will cover Part I sections 1-4 and Part II sections 1-4.
- Apr 21: Discussion on Monday, April 25 will run for two hours, so that we may discuss homework issues as well as prepare for the midterm.
- Apr 19: Beginning week 5, my office hours will be Tuesday 12:20-1:20 and Thursday 10-11, in order to accomodate homework due on Wednesday.
- Apr 18: Homework 4 is posted. It is due Wednesday, April 27.
- Apr 14: In an effort to make the graph in problem 2 more readable, I accidentally left off an edge. Please make sure that the graph you work with contains an edge directed from G to J.
- Apr 12: Note: In order to see the correct answers to a problem, select "Download Hardcopy" and click to show correct answers. Strangely, the "show solutions" option does nothing.
- Apr 12: Correction: now homework 3 is available. Sorry for any inconvenience.
- Apr 11: Homework 3 is now available, due April 18 at 5 PM.
- Apr 10: Due to trouble with WebWork, homework 2 is extended until Monday night at midnight.
- Apr 9: Several students are unable to re-access problems 1 and 2 on homework 2. If you have this problem, you may email me your answers to these problems. If you need to see the question again, just click on the button to download a hardcopy (a PDF) of the assignment. I am very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this issue.
- Apr 4: Homework 2 is now available, due April 11 at 5 PM the intended time for all future deadlines.
- Apr 4: Homework 1 was due Monday, April 4 at noon. To those who missed the deadline, a make-up homework was assigned, due Monday, April 11 at noon.
- Mar 23: The first discussion will be held on Monday, March 28 at 6 PM in APM B412. I will introduce the homework submission website and assign personal accounts.
