A lovely poem by Gradma Jane for Russell
Birthday Greetings to Fan and Ron
Allow me to introduce myself:
Russell is my name.
A resident of the domicile
of two scientists of fame.
A contemparary canine,
I'm a hybrid through and through,
(as my pedigree will attest),
for my background of Jack Russell,
plus chi hua hua, is the best.
When first
I joined this family
it soon became an expedience
that one, or all three of us,
needed schooling for obedience.
Now I'm happy to report
the training was a success.
On both ends of my leash we're firmly attached,
pausing when I need to be scratched,
and when I must tend to my business.
I always obey to "sit" or to "stay",
but I usually manage to "doo" it my way.
Of all our outings I like the most,
my favorite's exploring from post to post,
and paying a visit to Grandmother Jane
for treats. she's someone I don't have to train!
Now it's birthday time for Fan and Ron;
I'd like to observe it before it's gone.
So, here's to a doggone yappy birthday!
