USC is an urban campus that is subject to the challenges of the city. As such, the USC Department of Public Safety would like for you to follow a few safety precautions. The areas surrounding the USC campus, especially to the west and south, could be dangerous for persons walking alone. Please use caution and follow these guidelines:
Always walk with at least one other person, if possible. Be aware of your surroundings and of strangers around you. Always walk in well-lighted areas. Do not carry large sums of money with you. If you are driving, get driving directions to the location before leaving your hotel. Do not leave valuable property inside of your car.
If you are leaving the USC campus during the evening hours, it is best to use taxi services and avoid walking on the streets after dark.
If you have any questions about security or need help, ask any of the organizers or staff.
