Groups32

This is a computer program which presents information about the groups of orders 1-32.  You can find the orders of elements, list the subgroups, find cosets, search for a group satisfying given relations, and more.

 
Files are in .pdf  format and require the Adobe Reader.

ADVANCED

There is a file of sample problems  with solutions.  These are taken from various parts of a course in modern algebra – they are intended to show how Groups32 can be used. They are not beginners exercises.

ACCESSING THE PROGRAM

1.              Connect to math.ucsd.edu by Telnet.

a.             Click here if your browser has a telnet plugin

                             OR

b.              Use your own telnet client program

2.             Give groups32 as both login and password
