Math 240-Real Analysis, General Information
Fall 2008--Spring 2009
Course Description
This course is about measure theory and integration theory of functions. It also contains some simple set topology and functional analysis. By the end we shall also cover some basics of Sobolev functions, distribution theory and fourier analysis needed for the study of linear PDE.
Each quarter there will be a midterm and a final exam.

Exams
There will be one midterm and one final exam.
Homework
There will be weekly homework
assignments. Please check weekly for the updates. Many problems will be assigned every week. The one with (*) have to be turned in by the next week's Monday. The rest problems are recommended (which means that you should think about them and know how to solve them too). The exams will be based on lectures and homework problems. The course TA is Chad Wildman . He has office hours 2-3:30pm Thursday at 6414B or any time you can catch him.
The problem session will meet at 1-2pm of Thursday in APM 7218.
