The turtleAs you may or may not be able to tell, I have attempted to redraw the infamous children story of the turtle and the rabbit. I have only drawn the turtle because the rabbit is fast asleep somewhere in the woods.

I used various GLUT solid shapes including spheres, cylinders, torus; as well as triangle fans, triangle strips, quads, and quad strips in an attempt to draw a turtle. These were all scaled accordingly. I texture mapped a picture from the famous nintendo game, duckhunt, as the background and texture mapped the brick road. The tail of the turtle moves on its own, but you can make the head move by pressing 'h.' I also allowed the turtle to be animated so that you can help it reach the finish line though it still has a long way to go...

Controls:

• Arrow Keys - control the viewpoint.
• A - increases the rate of movement for viewpoint.
• a - decreases the rate of movement for viewpoint.
• c - culling of back faces.
• s - toggles between smooth shading and flat shading modes.
• w - toggles between the wireframe mode and fill polygon mode.
• l - switches between local lights and non-local lights.
• 1 - toggles the cyan light.
• 2 - toggles the white light.
• 3 - toggles the red light.
• + - zooms into the scene
• - - zooms out of the scene
• h - toggles the movement of the turtle's head.
• 8 - moves the turtle forward (along the x axis).
• 5 - moves the turtle backward (along the negative x-axis)
• 4 - rotates the turtle to the left about the y-axis.
• 6 - rotates the turtle to the right about the y-axis.

Unfortunately, I was not able to make a pond for the turtle to swim in at the finish line because I exceeded the time limit of the project. I may have another attempt at this during the break to see how far I can go with this program or another. We will see. Have a great break you all.
