GRADUATE STUDENT SUPPORT There is still NSA funding available for graduate students and recent Ph.D.'s (U.S. citizens only) without support from their home institutions to attend the conference. The National Security Agency has provided funding for graduate students and recent Ph.D.'s without support from their home institutions to attend the conference. Those receiving funding must participate in the academic portion of the conference but are not required to give a talk. To apply for funding an applicant should send a letter describing his/her research interests in number theory (or related area) and relevant education, including an estimate of travel expenses to: Professor Jane Friedman Mathematics and Computer Science Department University of San Diego 5998 Alcala Park San Diego, CA 92110 In addition, each student should ask a faculty advisor to send a letter in support of his/her application to the same address. A postdoc should ask a colleague familiar with his/her research to do the same. For those who are accepted, we hope to offer reimbursement for accommodation (up to $250), transportation (up to $450) and registration. Be advised that the NSA will only reimburse airfares for tickets on US carriers. Also, the applicant must be a US citizen or in possession of a valid "green card". Those applying after November 17, may be awarded support if funds permit.
