Biography
Education: Dr. Zhu earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University
of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019.
Research: Dr. Zhu works in applied mathematics. Her research interests
are broad and include questions at the interface of partial
differential equations and machine Learning. They also include
reinforcement learning, and uncertainty quantification in kinetic
equations.
For her dissertation work, Dr. Zhu received the John A. Nohel prize,
given to the best applied mathematics thesis at UW-Madison.
Prior to UC San Diego: Dr. Zhu was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford
University, and she was a long term visitor at the Simons Institute in
Berkeley.
