Decomposing the Schur functions and their crystal graphs

Abstract:

The Schur functions can be decomposed into "nonsymmetric Schur functions" obtained through a certain specialization of Macdonald polynomials. We explore several combinatorial properties of these polynomials and a connection to crystal graphs.
