Polynomial invariants of three-qubit systems

Abstract:

Polynomial invariants provide a tool to characterise quantum states with respect to local unitary transformations. Unfortunately, the situation becomes very complicated already for mixed states of three qubits due to combinatorial explosion. After an introduction to the mathematical background and general tools, the talk will present preliminary results for mixed quantum states and Hamiltonians for three-qubit systems. The talk is based on joint work in progress with Robert Zeier.
