Recent progress in the minimal model program
Abstract:
Compact Riemann surfaces are naturally divided into three types; the Riemann sphere, elliptic curves and curves of higher genus. We will explain the conjectural analogue of this classification in higher dimensions, recent progress towards this classification and some open problems.
