Uniformization theorem for smooth projective varieties
Abstract:
Building on the work of Gromov and Schoen, Kollar and Simpson we will show that the universal covering of a smooth projective varieties with a linear fundamental groups is holomorphically convex. At the end we will connect this result with some conjectures of Zelmanov's on Burnside type of groups.
